Fighting the big C

I love my rural hometown!

This is our kindergarten through 8th grade students and staff supporting our school nurse who was just diagnosed with breast cancer. The school has adopted the motto, “one of our own will not fight alone” and we proudly wear our t-shirts stating this.

In an effort to raise money to help her with travel costs back and forth to her treatments; several fundraisers have been arranged and supported by all in my little community.  Every Friday we hold a bake sale with pink themed baked goods, Tuesdays and Thursdays are pink sucker sales, and every day there are sales of pink paper ribbons that students write loving messages of support on. These ribbons adorn our school hallways like a rippling sea of pink.

Our school is overflowing with pink, love, and support for one of our own. Together we will fight the big C!

What is not to love about this little happy hometown?
